The Roanoke Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., a 106 year old Public Service Sorority, is very pleased to announce its annual scholarship award opportunity.

There will be two (2) Betty Barr Memorial Girl's Scholarships and two (2) Fred Rawlings Memorial Boy’s Scholarships awarded. Applications are being accepted until May 10, 2019. Please go to the link below to download an application: http://www.roanoketennis.org/news-and-photos.html DEADLINE: MAY 10 The Blacksburg Junior Women’s Club (BJWC) is offering three college scholarships, one for $1,000 one for $500, and one for $300 to graduating MCPS high school seniors who have demonstrated strong participation in local community service activities.

DEADLINE: APRIL 16, 2019 (TURN IN TO GUIDANCE) This $2,500 scholarship seeks to identify and reward a member of a Southwest Virginia high school golf team who exemplifies leadership, academic excellence, sportsmanship, and community service. DEADLINE: APRIL 24 The mission of the New River Valley Home Builders Association Scholarship Committee is to support the future growth of the Construction Industry by providing aid to deserving students enrolled in construction-related studies at Virginia’s Universities, Colleges, Trade Schools and within Working Internships. We will present a scholarship of $1,000 to a graduating senior from a New River Valley High School who is interested in entering the Construction Industry. DEADLINE: APRIL 12 The "One” Memorial Scholarship Honoring Hunter Nathanael Smith (BHS Class of 2011) is awarded to a senior graduating from Blacksburg High School and continuing his or her education at a four-year college or university. Completed applications are due to Ms. Dwoyer in guidance by Wednesday, May 1, and can be submitted hard copy to her office or emailed at emilydwoyer@mcps.org.
DEADLINE: MAY 1 (SUBMIT TO MS. DWOYER) The Crandall & Katt, Attorneys at Law Academic Scholarship Program will offer a scholarship in the amount of $500 to a local high school senior to be used for educational purposes beyond high school. This scholarship will be provided to a local student planning to enroll at either a college, community college, university or trade school.
To enter and qualify, the applicant must submit a 300-word minimum essay addressing this question: “What will the legal future hold for driverless cars that are involved in accidents?” Attached with the essay, please include a copy of the applicant’s resume (including current GPA) as well as what university, college or community college the applicant is planning to attend. It rewards achievement in its many forms and honors those who create opportunity for both themselves and others. To apply, submit a short response at opploans.com/scholarship. The scholarship is awarded four times a year, with submission deadlines on September 30, December 31, March 31, and June 30. DEADLINE: MARCH 31, JUNE 30 The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of Montgomery County and Radford Scholarship Fund has announced their 2019 Scholarship. This scholarship will be awarded to an outstanding high school senior who plans to pursue studies in a human services/human medical field. Applications are DUE May 2, this is not a postmark deadline so be sure to get your application in the mail about a week ahead of time. DEADLINE: May 2 George Marshall Holmes was a resident of Blacksburg, Virginia. At his request, a scholarship has been established in his name for a deserving student/students at Blacksburg High School. Candidates should be highly qualified academically, demonstrate financial need, and must attend Virginia Tech as a full time student in the fall of 2019.
