The Montgomery County Farm Bureau Scholarship Program may provide a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior from a Montgomery County High School. Qualified candidates will be graduating seniors from MCPS, be accepted to a college or university, and preference will be given to applicants pursuing agricultural degrees. NFL Veteran, Delray Beach native, and Virginia Tech graduate David Clowney started The David Clowney Foundation in 2008 geared towards supporting underprivileged youth with educational endeavors. Based on the premise of excellence both on and off the field, The David Clowney Foundation is compassionately dedicated to achieving a better tomorrow for disadvantaged youth. Applicants must be a current high school senior, have a minimum GPA of 3.0, demonstrate financial need, and be planning to attend a 4 year college or university. The scholarship committee will make the selection based on academic achievement, financial need, evidence of leadership ability and community involvement, and creativity in essay. The NRCC Educational Foundation Scholarship is now available.
We recommend that seniors apply for this scholarship if they qualify for free/reduced lunch (even if not currently using it). In combination with eligibility for potential grant money, students have the opportunity to receive enough money to cover all tuition and books, more than what the ACCE scholarship can provide.
The application is available online and is due Feb. 15.

The Frank E Page Educational Fund was established to give financial assistance to "deserving students who shall be graduated from the public high schools of Montgomery County, Virginia." Grants are made on a yearly basis and are renewable. Criteria for selection includes financial need and academic success. This scholarship is available for or 4 year institutions and community colleges. Applicants must complete an application, have two letters of reference, and a high school transcript to apply. EventZone will award a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating high school senior who lives within a 100 mile radius of Roanoke and plans to major or minor in Music, Dance, Theater, Sculpture, Painting, Photography, Drawing (graphic/computer art majors do not apply). Shelor Toyota is proud to offer $1000 scholarships to graduating seniors who wish to further their education after high school. These scholarships are open to all students, regardless of your career ambitions! Scholarships of $1000 each will be awarded to seniors who have met the qualifications and have the highest ratings as compared to other applicants. Eligible seniors may attend any of the four Montgomery County High Schools, Radford High School, Pulaski County High School, Craig County High School, Floyd County High School, Giles High School, or Narrows High School. To apply for one of these scholarships, applicants must complete the entire application process by March 15, 2019. Applications postmarked after March 15 will not be considered for selection. The Roanoke Chapter of The Girl Friends, Inc. is part of a national organization of approximately 1500 professional women in forty-seven chapters from coast to coast. The mission of the organization is to exhibit friendship through networking projects across America and to support community, cultural and educational agendas. The Girl Friends, one of the oldest organizations of African American women in the United States, was founded in 1927 in New York during the creative period of the Harlem Renaissance. Attached is information on the three scholarships that are being offered to high-achieving, African American students from the following area- Blacksburg, Christiansburg, Lynchburg, Roanoke City, Roanoke County, Botetourt, and Salem. (a) The Girl Friends Memorial Scholarship ($500.00) for a community college or a 4 year accredited college

(c) The Girl Friends Fund Scholarship ($1000.00-1500.00) for a 4 year accredited college

The National & VA Association of Federal Education Program Administrators announces a scholarship to support qualifying seniors or HS graduates attending their first year of college. Two scholarships are for students pursuing degrees in education, and the other two scholarships may be awarded to applicants pursuing degrees in any field. Scholarship winners will be based upon the following criteria: GPA (20 points), Extracurricular, service, and/or leadership activities (25 points), 3 letters of recommendation (25 points), personal essay (30 points). The completed application must be submitted by January 16, 2019--NO EXTENSIONS WILL BE GRANTED. Please see Mrs. Dwoyer for an application or contact Mrs. Scott at the email below. This renewable need-based scholarship award is valued at up to $20,000. To qualify and apply for The American Legion Legacy Scholarship, you must be able to answer YES to the following three questions:
1. Are you currently a HS senior and/or accepted at or attending an institution of higher education?
2. Is your institution of higher education a non-profit and regionally accredited institution? (If you are unsure, contact your institution's admissions office. Regional accreditation applies to the whole school--not a program.)
3. Does at least one of the following statements apply to you?
a. A legal parent of mine died while serving on active duty, U.S. military service, or after September 11, 2001. (Does not have to be a death out-of-country or in combat.)
b. A legal parent of mine is a Post-9/11 veteran of the U.S. military, who has been given a disability rating of 50% or higher by the Veteran's Administration.
If you can answer yes to the previous three questions, you are eligible to apply. Go to www.legion.org and register, then fill out the application.
