The Roanoke Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., a 106 year old Public Service Sorority, is very pleased to announce its annual scholarship award opportunity.
To be eligible for a scholarship award the following criteria must be met:

There will be two (2) Betty Barr Memorial Girl's Scholarships and two (2) Fred Rawlings Memorial Boy’s Scholarships awarded.

The "One” Memorial Scholarship Honoring Hunter Nathanael Smith (BHS Class of 2011) is awarded to a senior graduating from Blacksburg High School and continuing his or her education at a four-year college or university. For a copy of the application click here or see Ms. Dwoyer in the school counseling office. Completed applications are due to Ms. Dwoyer in guidance by Wednesday, May 1, and can be submitted hard copy to her office or emailed at email@example.com.

The Crandall & Katt, Attorneys at Law Academic Scholarship Program will offer a scholarship in the amount of $500 to a local high school senior to be used for educational purposes beyond high school. This scholarship will be provided to a local student planning to enroll at either a college, community college, university or trade school.
To enter and qualify, the applicant must submit a 300-word minimum essay addressing this question: “What will the legal future hold for driverless cars that are involved in accidents?”
Attached with the essay, please include a copy of the applicant’s resume (including current GPA) as well as what university, college or community college the applicant is planning to attend.

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of Montgomery County and Radford Scholarship Fund has announced their 2019 Scholarship. This scholarship will be awarded to an outstanding high school senior who plans to pursue studies in a human services/human medical field. NFL Veteran, Delray Beach native, and Virginia Tech graduate David Clowney started The David Clowney Foundation in 2008 geared towards supporting underprivileged youth with educational endeavors. Based on the premise of excellence both on and off the field, The David Clowney Foundation is compassionately dedicated to achieving a better tomorrow for disadvantaged youth. Applicants must be a current high school senior, have a minimum GPA of 3.0, demonstrate financial need, and be planning to attend a 4 year college or university. The scholarship committee will make the selection based on academic achievement, financial need, evidence of leadership ability and community involvement, and creativity in essay.
